Can I attend the inspection?
You are welcome to attend the inspection and speak directly with your BestBuild inspector. If you are not able to attend, you will receive a full verbal explanation and a detailed 15-20 page report within 24 hours.
You are also welcome to reach out to your inspector with questions at any time.
How do I choose the right inspector?
In our opinion, the best way to find the right inspector is to ask the right questions...
Your first priority should be ensuring they are qualified because, unfortunately the Building Inspections industry is unregulated so anybody can inspect your home.
Is your inspector a Registered Builder with the Victorian Building Authority (VBA)?
Well, we sure are! You can easily check this by visiting https://consumer.etoolbox.buildingcommission.com.au/Pages/Search.aspx or calling the Victorian Building Authority directly. Is your inspector really independent? You may be surprised to know that most Building, Pest and Pool inspection companies in Melbourne are actually franchise businesses that outsource their work to third-party contractors. This is why their prices are usually cheap...but quality is questionable because the sub-contracted inspector doesn't have skin in the game and, again, may not be appropriately qualified.
